About
The business in short: the Des Plaines properties we work on, how a job gets scoped and priced in writing, and the kinds of work we say no to.
What the business does
Weirmont locates water leaks in houses, townhomes and condos across Des Plaines. Locating is the whole job: we find the source, mark it and write it down, and any repair is quoted separately.
A fair share of calls turn out not to be supply leaks at all, but river water, a sewer backup or groundwater after rain. When that is the answer we say so and name the trade that fits.
Prices on this site are estimated ranges. Your own figure comes as a free quote by phone, then a written quote ahead of any visit.
- Locating only, with repairs quoted separately
- No drainage or sewer work sold
- No figure given before the symptoms are heard
- Told plainly when the water is not a leak

How it runs
Four steps, no surprises
Which water it is and whose pipe it is, settled before anything gets opened.
Call and describe the water
Where it is, when it appears, whether it follows rain, and what the meter does with everything off. That usually rules out a source or two before anyone drives over.
Get the figure in writing
The estimated range becomes a written quote for the visit, with any after-hours charge said up front. Nothing starts until you agree it.
We isolate, then listen
Hot side against cold, house against service line, supply against drain. Then the equipment the isolation points to: acoustic, thermal, moisture or tracer gas.
You keep the finding
The spot marked, how it was found, the pipe material and which side of the curb box it falls on, in writing, for any plumber you like.
Before you choose
Five questions for anyone you call, us included
A finding is only as good as the reasoning behind it, and these bring the reasoning out.
Will you tell me which water it is?
Supply, sewer, ground or river. Ask how the other three get ruled out.
Is the detection priced on its own?
It should be: an estimated $150 to $400 here, with any repair as a separate written quote.
Who owns the stretch that is leaking?
Past the city's b-box it is the owner's; in Waycinden Park, ask Illinois American.
What will you need to open?
Nothing, to find it. The only opening should be the repair's.
Can I check your license?
Illinois licenses plumbers through its Department of Public Health, and the lookup is public.

Want a number on it?
